32 YEARS. 42 PLANTS. ONE STANDARD.

Steve Baumgartner didn't start in a boardroom. He started on the plant floor — learning operations from the ground up in some of America's most demanding manufacturing environments.

Over 32 years he rose through every level. Operator, Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Plant Engineer to Maintenance and Reliability Director responsible for 42 plants across North America. Two-time Plant General Manager. He drove multi-million dollar turnarounds, led teams of hundreds, and built a reputation for one thing above everything else: getting operations and maintenance aligned and moving in the same direction, then the rest of the team.

If your teams are working hard but pulling in different directions — chasing their own metrics, speaking their own language, and missing the P&L — Steve has seen that problem in 42 different variations. And he knows exactly what it costs.

THE RESUME DOESN'T TELL THE WHOLE STORY.

At the height of his career Steve was overseeing maintenance and reliability across North America. The titles were real. The results were real. The income was real.

And he was 320 pounds, disconnected from his wife, checked out as a father, and running from a past he had never fully dealt with. On paper everything looked like success. Inside he was a man who had spent decades outrunning something he couldn't name.

He had built exactly what he set out to build.

And it wasn't enough.

WHAT ACTUALLY CHANGED.

It wasn't a program. It wasn't a seminar. It was a moment of complete brokenness that finally cracked him open.

Through his Catholic faith, a marriage that almost didn't survive, and the brutal honesty of men who loved him enough to tell him the truth — Steve began doing the real work. Not the career work. The inside work.

He lost 80 pounds. He rebuilt his marriage. He became present for his children. He dealt with the wounds he had been carrying since before the career started. And he discovered something that changed how he approaches every engagement — that the gap between where a man is and where he knows he should be, and the gap between where an organization is and where it needs to go, come from exactly the same place.

Misalignment. In both cases. And in both cases the fix starts from the inside.

TWO CALLINGS. ONE MISSION.

Today Steve operates Fire Forged Enterprise — bringing 32 years of operational expertise to manufacturing organizations that need their people aligned, their leaders developed, and their results moving in the right direction.

He also works privately with men through his FORGE coaching program and the Knights Order community — men who provide well, lead organizations, and feel like strangers in their own lives.

He is a husband. Father of eight. Host of the Sacred Gentleman podcast. And a man who believes the world doesn't need more comfortable men. It needs men on mission.

Both callings come from the same place. The work he does in plants and the work he does with men are the same conversation — about what it actually costs when leaders aren't aligned with who they were built to be.
